Book a Speaking Engagement
An In-depth public presentation and discussion with Daniel.
What happens when a lost place is rebuilt from scratch in a computer? Daniel is a 3D reconstruction specialist and a working camera department professional. He has spent years rebuilding the 18th-century Fortress of Louisbourg in digital form, and he shares the story behind it: the archival detective work, the technical challenges, and the surprising things you learn when you try to rebuild a place that no longer exists.
Drawing on a film and TV career and featured on CBC, he delivers talks that are visual, story driven and accessible to any audience. No technical background needed.
Formats: in-person keynote (20–45 min), virtual talk, workshop, or Q&A panel
Great for: museums, heritage societies, universities, conferences, libraries, schools, tourism groups, film industry events
Includes: live 3D fly-throughs, before/after visuals, and audience Q&A

Work With Me – Client Intake
I’m Daniel C. MacNeil, a 3D reconstruction specialist and film/TV professional based in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I rebuild places that no longer exist, or exist only in fragments, so audiences can see them and walk through them. My flagship project is a full digital reconstruction of the Fortress of Louisbourg, which was featured on CBC.
Who I work with
Museums, heritage societies, municipalities, tourism organizations, historical associations, filmmakers, educators, and developers with a story tied to place.
How it works:
Conversation: tell me about your site, story, and goals. No pressure, no cost.
Scope and proposal: I outline deliverables, timeline, and pricing.
Research and build: I work from your source material and flag gaps or uncertainties honestly. You get check-ins along the way.
Delivery: final renders, animations, and/or model files, with clear usage rights.
